I want to give you an update on all the stuff that's happening with the Austin Technology Matters program.
First, thanks for all the great feedback on the Dorkbot program—our very first show. I even had a request from douglas repetto, the founder of the international Dorkbot movement, for a copy of the show.
At some point the Dorkbot show will be available for re-runs on PACT. Due to technical issues, it may not happen until the access facility completes its transition to all-digital. That's in the process now.
A lot of people have asked for download copies of the video. I want to make a near-NTSC-quality version of the show available on the net, probably under BitTorrent. I'd invite feedback from anybody who has any thoughts on preferred format.
Our second show, the Freedom to Connection program, has been taped. Editing will happen soon. The sidebar is promising a December showing. Right now, it's looking it may be something like December 45th by the time it airs.
The big news is that tomorrow evening, the intrepid ATM video posse heads into the studio for the very first time. We're going to tape a show on the topic of "disaster response technology." There are some great guests scheduled—people who were right in the thick of things during the Katrina and Rita disasters two years ago.
So, stay tuned, and stay geeky.
